Bert Davich, LMT graduated from The Healing Arts Center in 2006 and began private practice. He is currently the Healing Arts Center instructor for Myofascial Release With Orthopedic Considerations, Student Clinic Instructor, Manager & creator of the online Student Resources Center and library, and has practiced in the professional clinic since 2007.
In 2007 Bert became a Massage Therapist as part of the Healing Arts Center's professional clinic while continuing to maintain a private practice that included home call work, and event out calls. His out call work for Pre and post surgical clients and those with temporary and long term loss of activities of daily living during this time gained him valuable experience for working with pain management.
In 2012 Bert moved all his clinical practice to the Healing Arts Center and became the Healing Arts Center's instructor for Myofascial release with orthopedic considerations and instructor for Student Clinics. He loves sharing his acquired knowledge with our students and consistently offers those little 'details' of information and nuances of technique that are usually gained only through clinical experience.
Bert's primary practice today is massage and manual therapy for orthopedic soft tissue related conditions. He works with clients to manage chronic pain and range of motion issues and repetitive strain injury. He also regularly works with post surgical clients to assist them in reaching full recovery. Bert performs his work in a way that is effective, but not painful. He believes that manual therapy performed at a level that feels good rather than painful usually gets better results. Bert still appreciates giving a great relaxation massage when it fits the needs of that person.
Bert's continuing studies from graduation have focused on structural bodywork from structural integration, Deep Tissue & Myofascial Release (Art Riggs), and other approaches that include, orthobionomy, muscle energy technique, superficial and deep sustained traction methods, and working with peripheral nerve pain using dermal traction & distortion. He attends anatomy (cadaver) labs every 6 months and has thousands of hours of advanced studies outside the available continuing education credit curriculum.
Bert originated and co-created the continuing education course Assessment Based Treatment For The Shoulder presented at the Healing Arts Center. Bert created and instructs the technique portion. Dr Dan Rovin, co-creator, created and presents the anatomy, assessment, and orthopedic testing portion of the class.
Bert spends a great amount of his time reading and studying current research in massage and manual therapies which informs his approach to each clients dysfunction. He has taken pro bono case studies for adhesive capsulitis and Dupuytrens Contracture
