How your first visit will go

Any patient can receive Reiki.  Book an appointment right away to start receiving the benefits of this comforting, relaxing energy technique as soon as possible, since no doctor's permission is required for Reiki. Clients will need to fill out a client intake form.
Our supervisor and clinicians will talk with you about your goals and specific needs before your therapeutic session. Learn more about Reiki.

Preparing for appointments that include massage therapy

Complete the client intake form. Have your oncologist complete the required form in order to receive massage therapy services in addition to Reiki. The therapeutic massage offered in this clinic is a compassionate, light touch to encourage relaxation and pain reduction.

The Ancient Power Of Touch
For thousands of years human beings have used the power of touch to impact health and well-being.  Massage therapy along with energy work such as Reiki, helps your mind and body work together to mount a more powerful defense against disease and injury.
The Healing Arts Center trains massage therapists to create more than mere creature-comfort.  Our students are trained to focus on wellness.  We use our various styles of body work to expel anxiety and pain from the human body. By integrating energy work into the regimen, our clients experience an deep sense of compassion.  As one of our clients once put it, "during Reiki I feel a deep sense of being utterly and completely loved".  The power of compassion provides wellness benefits of its own.
Our students are trained in more than just technique.  Each one is taught to meditate in order to clear their minds in order to focus purely on the well-being of the client.  Our educational process is highly transformational that acquaints students to the body as something more than an intricate biological machine.  While we provide therapeutic training that manipulates body tissue to promote and restore health, we also teach our students ancient techniques of breath and internal energy management that transcend tissue manipulation.
Our Story
For over twenty-nine years, The Healing Arts Center is the largest and oldest massage therapy school in the St. Louis Region.  HAC has trained some of the most accomplished body and energy workers in the profession.  Our training consists of the best of both Western and Eastern body work modalities to restore mind and body as a holistic being.  This requires more than mere technique - it requires true compassionate thought and  intention.
Public Service As Training
Our students are required to undertake many hours of clinical practice during their training program at HAC.  While our student clinic provides inexpensive massage therapy services to anyone, every school term, we select the most advanced and skillful of our students to participate in a special honors cancer clinic.  These students are given additional training to provide massage therapy and energy work for cancer patients as part as well as having the opportunity to volunteer to provide compassionate care to cancer patients so that the latter might regain some, if not all of their quality of life.  Compassion training that is a very distinct part of our program.  Graduates of HAC may also volunteer to undergo the additional training and provide free cancer services as well.  Our clinic has a waiting list of students and graduates wishing to participate in the program.
