Students in Cancer Clinic Training listen to Connie Smith share about her experience with breast cancer and how receiving massage and Reiki in the clinic provided her relief, calm, and a sense of well-being. Ms. Smith has been coming to the Healing Arts Center’s cancer clinic since she started receiving treatment for breast cancer in 2016. She shared with the students in the Cancer Clinic Training about how restorative it was to come to the clinic and feel cared for and nurtured in contrast to her experience of beginning cancer treatment at the hospital. Connie provides a personal perspective in the training for students to understand what cancer clients are going through and the difference that the Cancer Clinic makes. Contributing to the student’s training is only one of the ways in which Connie has demonstrated her commitment to the clinic. She has become a very energetic advocate for Cancer Clinic because of the unique care that it provides for people dealing with the effects of cancer treatment, chemo, radiation, surgery.

The Order of Twin Hearts (OTH) takes its name from the Meditation on Twin Hearts for World Peace originally taught by Pranic Healing Grand Master Choa Kok Sui. Master Choa was one of the most important teachers of HAC Headmaster, Tom Tessereau. Tom was a member of Master Choa's inner circle of disciples and it is the teaching on Twin Hearts that has become the foundation of the spirit of The Healing Arts Center. The Twin Hearts meditation links the crown and heart chakras (the Twin Hearts) to draw down divine energy into a human being to empower compassion and healing on a global level.

On December 15, 2017 in addition to five massage therapy students who will be inducted, we are proud to announce that six graduates from our first Advanced Energy Medicine Master Track will join this esteemed body of HAC alumni.

5,644 Students Have Attended HAC Since 2005 - From Across the Region and Across The CountryHessler, Miller, Wells & Wright To Be Honored At GraudationAs The Healing Arts Center prepares for graduation on October 9, the faculty has nominated an unprecedented four outstanding students to be inducted into The Order of the Twin Hearts, HAC's honor society. To be inducted into the Order, a student must be nominated by faculty, exhibit excellent participation in the educational process and represent the highest ideals of the The Healing Arts Center. This session, four such students emerged all of whom were nominated by multiple faculty members and clearly exhibit the best qualities of the school. On July 31, 2015, The Healing Arts Center will once again celebrate the Red Robe Ceremony marking graduation for a new group of massage therapists. At the Red Robe Ceremony, students receive "final transmission" from their teachers, an ancient mystical tradition among Buddhist and Hindu meditators. The ceremony gets its name from the traditional Buddhist "zens", or meditation shawls, worn by the faculty during the rite and the pranic meditation shawls worn by students. It is a reminder to all that every true healing art begins in the heart and mind of the practitioner and not in their physical technique alone. At the Red Robe Ceremony, it has become the custom to present each graduate with a sterling silver medallion in the shape of the heart chakra. This is to remind HAC graduates to put compassion first above all things as they go out into the world and establish their practice. The faculty at The Healing Arts Center, however, if they feel it is appropriate to do so, may nominate certain members of the graduating class for the special honor of The Order of the Twin Hearts. Named after a practice taught by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, a pranic healing grand master and mentor to headmaster Tom Tessereau, the Order of the Twin Hearts is awarded to students who have shown special skill and dedication to the practice of the healing arts.
The Healing Arts Center is pleased to announce that the faculty has nominated two students to receive induction into this most honorable society on July 31. At this summer's Red Robe Ceremony, two outstanding graduates, Carole Schmitt and Maureen Hughes will be inducted into the Order. To commemorate their induction into the Order, both Schmitt and Hughes will be given a second pendant at graduation, a sterling silver medallion in the shape of the crown chakra covered in gold along with the heart chakra medallion. These two chakras together represent the pranic symbol of the Twin Hearts. Both Schmitt and Hughes have evolved, in the eyes of the faculty and staff of the school, to be especially effective massage therapists demonstrating not only prowess in the classroom and clinic, but a particular sense of devotion to the art and to their studies. They are fine examples of the type of healers that are educated a The Healing Arts Center. The faculty and staff of The Healing Arts Center are deeply honored to have had the privilege of educating both Carole Schmitt and Maureen Hughes and we thank them for the fine example that they have set for not only their fellow students, but for anyone aspiring to improve the human condition. Well done! |
