HAC Continues A Tradition of Reiki Training

7/11/2016

The Reiki Mastery Course on August 6 & 7
is the Culmination of HAC's Reiki Training Curriculum.

The Healing Arts Center is well known in our community for Reiki training.  Reiki is part of both our massage therapy training program and our community building courses.  This means that many times a year we are helping people create compassion and healthy touch in their lives.  As some may already know Reiki is an ancient healing tradition that was rediscovered by a man named Mikao Usui in the 1920's.  Reiki training involves something called an "attunement" which is designed to activate Reiki energy within the student.  Through attunement and instruction Reiki is passed down from one teacher to the next.  Once someone has completed the final training course the student can then become an instructor.  This is what the Reiki Mastery course is all about, training participants to give both the attunements and the instructions to others.

Becoming a true Reiki Master requires a commitment to Reiki training and practice.  Of course the practitioner must take each of the Reiki classes in sequential order starting with Reiki One, followed by Reiki Two, and lastly Reiki Mastery.  While the Reiki classes are important for  attunements, background information, and practice guidelines, it is the growth and development outside of the classroom that makes a Reiki Master.

People often find that Reiki practice initiates a series of changes causing personal or spiritual growth ultimately leading to a life with more well-being and compassion.  Some of these changes may be related to providing the Reiki treatments or (for Reiki Masters) teaching others how to practice Reiki due to the deep sense of harmony and self worth that is felt, while other changes may be more personal and related to the shift in consciousness within the Reiki practitioner.  Whatever the source of the benefit may be, the end result is clear: enjoyment, fulfillment and gratitude.

To most people "Reiki Mastery" sounds like it would be the pinnacle of Reiki practice and understanding.  In some ways this could be considered true, though as many Reiki Masters have come to understand it is really just the beginning.  The Healing Arts Center's Reiki Mastery course may be the last class in the series, but it is far from the last lesson.
