HAC's "Reiki For Everyone" Initiative - October 10 & 11

9/2/2015

Reiki For Everyone - Comes To HAC in October - No License Required

Picture
Reiki is a healing modality practiced world-wide
In A Nutshell:
  • Reiki For Everyone (Reiki One) is designed to train members of the community in the well-known energy work of Reiki.
  • Special Community Building Tuition: $150
  • Saturday, October 10, 9am to 5pm
  • Sunday, October 11, 1pm to 5pm
  • This course provides the education and Reiki attunements necessary to provide basic Reiki treatments.
Reiki is an energy transfer modality that is drawing increasing attention from both the holistic and traditional medical communities.  Recommended by the likes of Dr. Mehmet Oz, MD (whose wife is a Reiki practitioner), Reiki is being used in clinics and hospitals around the world and throughout the United States to treat drug addiction, depression and to alleviate the effects of cancer treatment.  Reiki does not require a massage or medical license to practice.

The Reiki for Everyone course will be taught by HAC Headmaster and Reiki Master, Tom Tessereau.
Developed by a Dr. Mikao Usui, a 19th Century Japanese Buddhist practitioner and scholar who received his doctorate in divinity from the University of Chicago, Reiki supposedly originates from "The Tantra of the Lightening Flash" an ancient vajrayana healing sutra that may have originated in Tibet.  Because of Dr. Usui's Christian background, Reiki is often reputed to have a Christian foundation as well.

Over the last century, Reiki has been taught to hundreds of thousands of people world-wide as a method of compassionate touch that channels healing energy into the human body through the conduit of the Reiki practitioner.  The effect of Reiki is palpable and its effects are highly empowering to those who receive Reiki treatments.

The Healing Arts Center teaches Reiki to every student that trains in its massage therapy program.  HAC also uses Reiki extensively in its free HAC Community Cancer Clinic.  Reiki is so effective at energizing and conducting compassion between beings, that HAC believes that every family should have a Reiki healer.  Reiki promotes strong and loving bonds between family members and teaches children how to intentionally channel compassion into the beings of others.  The energy transfer is profound and highly beneficial to all beings.  Cancer patients report that Reiki can greatly relieve, if not eliminate, the sickly feelings that arise from cancer treatment such as chemotherapy.

Reiki has a transformative effect on the practitioner as well.   During the training, trainees come to terms with their own deep rooted sense of compassion and come to understand themselves as vehicle for compassionate awareness, energy and being.  The impact of the training alone can be quite profound.

For these reasons, HAC is making Reiki available to everyone in a special Reiki One session on October 10 & 11.  We have reduced the tuition to $150 to make the course affordable to nearly anyone and will be offering an opportunity after the course to take part  in community gatherings called "Reiki Circles".  These gatherings will allow practitioners to "reattune" on a regular basis and guest can be invited to Reiki Circles for free treatment.  HAC believes that because Reiki is accessible to everyone, that it is the perfect way to building healing and compassion into our community on a grass-roots level.

Eventually, HAC hopes to invite Reiki practitioners to join the volunteer therapists at the HAC Community Cancer Clinic to help treat those in need.   It is our commitment that every person has the potential to be a healer and will personally benefit greatly by making the choice to evolve their compassion to help others.

If you have questions, you can call us at (314) 647-8080.  Spread the word.  HAC is on a mission to spread Reiki to Everyone.
