Oscar was working at a health food store when one of his co-workers, who enrolled at the Healing Arts Center, introduced him to Tom Tessereau. Soon he had a chance to meet the admissions director, who came in periodically picking up 2 to 3 50lb bags of sea salt. With curiosity and a feeling, he went to the school to check it out, and went to schedule a professional massage. After receiving his first massage, from a graduate 10 years in practice, he decided that he could do this, enrolled at the Healing Arts Center, and graduated in 2011.
After working for a couple of years as a massage therapist, he came back and joined the team at the Healing Arts Center in 2014. He wanted to give back and be a part of a place that really helped him grow as a person and as a massage therapist. Tools such as being present, letting go, and opening up have helped and continue to help him grow and help each client Oscar works with.
In session, Oscar likes to use a combination of Swedish massage and Myofascial Release, and Reiki keeping a good flow along with pressure point and trigger point therapy. He works together with the client while breathing, letting go, and keeping their intention in mind for each session.
