Pillossage for Self-Care: Putting a L.I.D. on Your Pain*
Learn Pillossage for your own self-care and then learn how to teach your clients to use warm flax pillows for themselves. Encourage clients to participate in their own rehabilitation, extending the benefits of Pillossage beyond their session, decreasing pain and improving their quality of life. As you learn the “dance of Pillossage,” you will find easier ways to deliver therapy that feels deep and effective without strain on your body or discomfort to the client.
This class provides a framework for offering classes to small groups of clients or as community outreach. Demonstrations of Pillossage for self-care can be used as marketing at events, along with useful tips for individuals living with pain. Tips on speaking and providing mini-classes to seniors, support groups, at yoga centers, holistic events, and other venues will be covered. The possibilities are endless!
The principles of Pillossage for Self-Care are supported by current pain science and incorporate concepts from DNM (DermoNeuroModulating). This understanding enables therapists to work more efficiently and effectively when working with clients with chronic pain or complex medical conditions, allowing the practitioner to customize treatment to the client’s unique needs. Including self-care in your sessions is a bonus for both therapist and client and excellent means of marketing.
*The class will incorporate attention to Location, Intensity, and Duration of pain.
Intro to Pillossage & How to use Pillossage for ‘The Forgotten Chest’ and Cervical Spine to Fingertips
Many therapists neglect or avoid this area of the body. Don’t! Learn how to use larger warm flax pillows both as an effective therapy tool and to provide a safe barrier between the therapist’s hands and the client’s body. Working through the pillow provides comfort and reassurance to both male and female clients.
Techniques will demonstrate how to address all areas of this region to help clients recovering from trauma, surgery, and strain or tension from computer work and everyday life. Using principles of thermal therapy and DNM, learn to stretch, access tender areas, assist the client to breathe more deeply, and relieve pain. Your clients will become convinced that this is a vital “go-to” part of their body!
Participants will learn how to blend thermal therapy and dermoneuromodulation to easily access areas of chest and torso creatively with ease and comfort. The flax pillow barrier allows accessing the anterior and lateral chest and abdominal regions providing vital therapy for diverse client conditions.

Students will remain clothed. No oils or creams.
Products are required and discounted for class. All students will be able to take home their products.

Introduction to Singing Bowl Sound Therapy

Singing bowl sound therapy is a deeply relaxing combination of sound and sensation. Hand made metal bowls are placed on and around the body and gently played. The receiver is immersed in beautiful tones and sensation as the vibrations travel deep into the body. |
