Three Weekends A Year, Three Related Topics, One Comprehensive Skill Set ![]() The Healing Arts Center is launching a new series of workshops designed to provide advanced level training in a format that supports the working therapist. The idea behind Pro Tracks is to broaden the therapeutic reach of massage therapists to expand client wellness services so as to reach a larger client base or improve employability at a higher wage rate. The Healing Arts Center takes the view that massage therapists are underused in the arena of wellness and promoting health in our culture. HAC does not teach pamper massage, but rather focuses its knowledge, experience and skill toward developing the massage therapist as a "first responder" in the quest for health and wellness. For this reason our primary massage therapy training program is directed on pure healing modalities that alleviate stress and anxiety, treats acute and chronic pain at its source and provides the myriad of other benefits that therapeutic massage is known to provide. In fact, "therapy" is the whole point of this healing art. HAC's 600 hour massage therapy training program is comprehensive, but does not cover everything. For this reason, HAC has developed its Master Track Program to allow serious students to take deep dives into specific subjects like breathwork and advanced energy medicine. The Pro Track Program is also committed to providing a deeper look at various modalities, but in a shorter and less expensive format. Pro Track training provides clinically useful training that any massage therapist can put to use immediately. At The Healing Arts Center, we believe that massage therapists are undervalued in the health and wellness community. In order to expand the role that massage therapists can play in wellness care, it is important that motivated practitioners develop expansive skills that give them the power to create greater and greater wellness outcomes. For the private practitioner this gives the highly skilled therapist greater reach into the market space and a competitive edge in increasingly diversified wellness market. For the employed massage therapist, these additional skills are intended to promote upward employability. Our First Pro-Track: Medical Massage Fundamentals HAC's Medical Massage Fundamentals Pro Track provides training in three distinct areas of medical massage: lymphatic drainage, injury recovery and prenatal care. This course will be offered over three weekends spread out over 2018. Each weekend will dive into one of the specific subjects noted above. Medical Massage Fundamentals will be taught by Terrie Yardley-Nohr, HAC's business instructor and Director of Programming. Terrie has an outstanding resume and currently serves on the National Board of the Alliance of Massage Therapy Educators, a national organization that sets standards for massage therapy instructor qualifications. She is the author of Ethics for Massage Therapists, the ethics textbook used at HAC and massage therapy schools across the country. Terrie also manages the HAC Cancer Clinic and has had a long and illustrious career in massage therapy education. With Pro Tracks, there is the option to do one of the three courses or all of them. There is special pricing and payment plans for those participants who take the entire Pro Track. The Medical Massage Fundamentals Pro Track
