Neural Reset Therapy (NRT) @ HAC - NRT Student Provides a Description of Her Experience

5/1/2017

On May 20 & 21 HAC Hosts Neural Reset Therapy (NRT) for the Lower Body
Neural Reset Therapy for the Lower Body is one of three parts of the comprehensive NRT training program which also includes NRT for the Upper Body and Advanced NRT.  For years, nationally recognized massage therapy instructor, Ralph Stephens, has worked with the developer of NRT, Lawrence Woods, to teach this extremely useful modality through these three workshops.  HAC offers all three parts of the series each year.

The NRT Advanced Course will be at our campus in October and NRT for the Upper Body was held last February, 2018.
Tina Smith, a graduate of The Healing Arts Center, attended the February NRT Upper Body Course and we had the opportunity to ask her about her experience.  Smith, an LMT and a CrossFit athletic trainer, was ready and willing to learn the new skills that NRT had to offer.

What about the class stood out to her?
According to Tina NRT is valuable because:
  1. It is goal oriented.
  2. It designed to be easy on the massage therapist's body (as well as the client's) to enhance practice longevity.
  3. Many of the techniques in the NRT modality can be done with the client fully clothed.
  4. Techniques used in the class worked with the body's natural functions in order to bring out a change.

Tina also reported that the course had the perfect balance of lecture (including history, anatomy, principles, and philosophy of NRT) and hands-on training.  The instructor, Ralph Stephens, was readily available for coaching and the class allowed for ample time for practice.  Every student performed a "Full Reset" of the upper body, which included the entire series of techniques acquired over the weekend.

Overall, the information, use of time and presentation skills are excellent and combined with a generous amount of hands-on practice time,  NRT workshops allow even relatively new massage therapists the ability to integrate NRT into their daily practice immediately.
