This past Friday the Healing Arts Center graduated a group of outstanding students from the Massage Therapy Training Program.  Among them, one student stood out for his excellence.  Matthew Tarrillion received every award that the Healing Arts Center offers, plus a student scholarship from Massage Envy.

Perfect Attendance Award

Friday, May 25th, Matt received an award acknowledging his perfect attendance.  While not unheard-of at HAC, perfect attendance is a distinction that few achieve. Matt attended all 100% of the 600 hours of the massage therapy training program over 50 weeks. HAC recognizes the students who consistently and without fail, show up to demonstrate their commitment to training as a healer.

Cancer Clinic Clinician

Cancer clinicians have an honors status at The Healing Arts Center.  To be eligible for Cancer Clinic training, students must have a minimum of 80% original attendance. Students who are invited to join Cancer Clinic must choose it, attend the training sessions, and choose to serve in the Cancer Clinic in lieu of the regular student clinic. Matthew graduated as a cancer clinician. (Click this link to read more about HAC's Free Cancer Clinic.)

Tom bestows Matt with the red cord with charms that each symbolize the graduate's accomplishments. A heart chakra that all graduates receive, a crown chakra, the two together representing The Order of Twin Hearts and a "hamsa" hand charm for Cancer Clinic.

Order of Twin Hearts

The Order of Twin Hearts is the Healing Arts Center's honor society.  Composed of an elite group of graduates, OTH members embody the spirit of HAC, reflecting compassion and commitment to the consciousness of healing. To be eligible, students must have at least 90% original attendance in all classes and receive at least two nominations from faculty.  The Order of Twin Hearts is named for the Meditation on Twin Hearts for world peace and universal healing.

Massage Envy Scholarship

Massage Envy offers a $1000 scholarship to one student at each massage school.  To be selected, students must apply, write an essay and be interviewed to be considered.  Recipients may use the scholarship towards tuition. There is no requirement that recipients must work for Massage Envy.  Matthew received this scholarship as well.
Needless to say, The Healing Arts Center is exceptionally proud of Matt Tarrillion and know he will make a big difference in the profession.
Congratulations, Matt!
